ALF sounds and video clips back online
Due to a server problem, since beginning of September
many of the ALF video clips and some of the ALF sounds - which just
returned completely shortly before in the beginning of August - were
offline.
But now that came to an end: Nearly all ALF sounds and ALF video clips
are back online again, for you to enjoy! :-) |
5 November 2004 |
Starting today: 6 new episodes of ALF's Hit Talk Show
Today, Friday, November 5, 2004 on TV Land it's the start
of a new batch of ALF's Hit Talk Show. The first show - part
of the ALF marathon in Juny - was a big success, so now there's
6 brandnew shows.
ALF and his co-host Ed McMahon once again welcome lots of
interesting guests, and promise half an hour of out-of-this-world
entertainment. Don't miss it!
The show is on: Fridays, at 11 p.m.
and there's repeats Saturdays, at 2 a.m., Tuesdays at 1 a.m. and on Fridays at 7 a.m. (Times of the repeats may vary though!)
A detailed overview about TV Land's airings of "ALF's Hit Talk Show"
can be found in the ALF discussion board at TV Land.
P.S: Once again, you're invited to visit the official homepage of "ALF's Hit Talk Show"
- great especially for everyone outside of the USA; they also have trailers and video clips off the show, so one can get an impression... :-) |
7 July 2004 |
Today on TV Land: ALF's Hit Talk Show
Today, Wednesday, July 7, 2004 on TV Land aires ALF's new
show at 10 p.m., with 4 classic episodes of ALF following -
starting 10.30 p.m.: #2.1 "Working My Way Back
to You", #2.2 "The Ballad of Gilligan's Island", #3.11 "Alone
Again, Naturally" and #3.21 "Funeral for a Friend".
ALF's Hit Talk Show, starting at 10 p.m. (EST/PT, 9 p.m. CT,
local times may vary) shows ALF among his co-host Ed McMahon
and with his guests Dennis Franz and Drew Carey.
In case you're interested what the press wrote about
ALF's all-new comeback to TV as a Talk Show Host, or what he
says himself about in an interview, here are 3 good articles:
Still tonight's show is
just a pilot, a first show of the new concept, and it's depending
on the viewership but also on the feedback if there's gonna be
more brandnew ALF or not! :-)
So ALF creator Paul Fusco counts on us, the ALF fans, to let
TV Land know, how much we would like to see ALF again. So if you
enjoyed the show, please go ahead and e-mail TV Land at
postmaster@tvland.com or write to them sending a letter.
Thank you in advance for your help.
And last but not least: "ALF's Hit Talk Show" is shown again -
as well as the four classic episodes - on Saturday, July 10,
starting 9 a.m.! And just the half an hour of the Talk Show
can be seen again also on Saturday, at 8.00 p.m. CET/PT!
P.S: Visit the official homepage of "ALF's Hit Talk Show"
- great especially for everyone outside of the USA; they also have trailers and video clips off the show, so one can get an impression... :-) |

Season One of ALF coming to DVD!
The "Bring ALF to DVD" petition was a success: More than 6000 ALF fans signed,
and now finally - although it's not clear how connected these two events are - ALF is
acutally coming to DVD - in seasons!
The 4 DVD set with the complete 26 episodes of ALF's first season is gonna be
released by Lions Gate Home Entertainment on August 10, 2004.
Answering an inquiry about if and when the other seasons will be on DVD,
Lions Gate Home Entertainment answered towards Stephan's ALF-Page/TVshows.de that
the further release depends on the success of Season One. One more reason for every
ALF fan to not hesitate and order "ALF: Season One":
Shops & Prices, as well as lots of other info on the ALF DVDs page.

ALF completely taken off the air on Hallmark Channel!
Lately even the Saturday morning airing of ALF has been taken off. So now there's no TV channel
that airs ALF in the USA anymore. :-(
|
9 January 2002 |
ALF taken off the air on Hallmark Channel!
Well, though it was planned to show ALF at 6 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. every weekday
at least until the end of January (see news message from December 30), the
Hallmark Channel spontenously cancelled ALF in that popular time slot.
From now on, the ALF show is only shown at Saturdays at 6 a.m. and 6.30 a.m.,
meaning 5 a.m. and 5.30 a.m. in Central Time. Also the ALF re-runs in the morning
at 8.30 have been cancelled, which means ALF is just shown twice a week (in the
VERY early time slot) instead of the 17 times a week before.
Lots of ALF fans wrote to Hallmark and there viewer relations office responded that
there weren't enough viewers to warrant the daily schedule, without handing out
specific numbers. If you want to let them know how much you enjoyed watching ALF
on the Hallmark Channel and how much you would like them to bring the show back
(into a normal time slot and not only 6 o'clock in the morning), you can write them
via e-mail to viewers@hallmarkchannel.com
or via the contact
form on their website.
Of course the episode list of the December 30, 2001, news message became obsolete.
The episodes are not going to be shown as listed there. So here's a list of the
episodes which are going to be shown in the very early Saturday morning:
Sat, January 12
6.00 A.M.
Whizzer (Paul Dooley) comes face-to-face with ALF
when he searches for Dorothy (Anne Marea) at the Tanners.

New online petition out called "Bring back ALF to TV"!
Kristi, the ALF fan who initiated the petition, is going to
send the signatures to Nick-At-Nite. She already wrote to TBS
but they are definitely not going to show it. Still the chances
with Nick-At-Nite may be better. And up to now, more than
460 people have signed, and of course you can do too!

ALF creator Paul Fusco with concept for all-new ALF show!
It has been on the news section of the main page quite a while
now: There are plans for an all-new ALF TV series! As Paul Fusco told
TVshows.de, he is in discussion with several networks regarding
the new ALF show. It will be more like a Talk Show concept (though
no details about the format are known yet) and it's likely it will
not include the cast of the original ALF show - just like the
"Project: ALF" movie.
A pilot for a ALF talk show format was
supposed to be taped in September, but as until September 10th,
no pilot was taped until then.
After ALF had several guest appearances in the last
years (at "Love Boat: The next Wave", "Cindy Margolis Show",
"E! Talk Soup"), Paul Fusco has been in talking to TV stations in
the last years to bring ALF back.
As I get further
news or details, you will be able to read about them at
Stephan's ALF-Page or in the ALF-newsletter. |

It's likely that ALF is going to leave Odyssey Channel!
As of August 4, Odyssey is likely to stop broadcasting ALF, which
in this case will be replaced by "I Dream of Jeannie"!
This is not confirmed yet, but it is told that Odyssey's
contract is running out this summer anyways.
So the TNN network may be picking it up, as it was said TNN did sign for it,
and the TNN network does contain the channels TNN/Nick at Nite/TVLand, so
it's possible ALF might be aired on Nick-At-Nite! :-)
And it was also said that this fall, ALF is being sold into syndication...

The first episode of ALF on the german TV channel SAT.1 had a
really great rating yesterday. It had 2.28 million viewers and
a share of 16.1%, despite the good wheather. And in the most
attractive group of viewers for the advertising companies, the
14-49 year olds, the show got an even better 1.47 million viewers
and a share of 24,6%!!
BTW: On its last airing on PRO7 last year, ALF got mostly
1 to 1.5 million viewers and a 8 to 12% share, so it looks like it has
again become more popular in the meantime... :-) |

in german Free-TV (Free-TV=you don't need a descrabler to watch it).

The very popular german soccer show "ran" used to start

Because of this, I expect the ALF ratings to be really good again

Not a lot of people in the

times changed: It's on every Saturday at 13.40

of the 3rd season are shown. |
22 Mar 1999 |
ALF makes a special guest appearance on the last
episode of this season's "Love Boat: The Next Wave".
The story is that everyone on the cruise gets hynotized
and that the fantasies of the people come alive. And
on the ship, there's also a little girl with an ALF
doll, so I think the story is that ALF or this doll
comes alive then. It all still sounds a little strange
to me, but I think it's great that ALF will be part
of a new television production at all.
ALF's Love Boat Episode will air on May 7th on UPN
in the USA. Unfortunately, I do not know any dates
for other countries... |
02 Mar 1999 |

ALF is currently aired in Poland and Russia.
In Poland, ALF is aired on POLSAT! It's on every week
day (Mo-Fr) at 16.15 CET (or 4.15 P.M.). It's over voice so a narrator
translates what the cast says, it's no dubbing! So you can still hear
what the people say in the background. For all those who
want to get an impression what ALF is like in the english version with polish over voice and
who live in europe or near asia with a satellit dish, POLSAT is
aired on the Eutelsat Hotbird satellite.
In Russia, ALF is on CTC8 (or ES-TE-ES-eight). The times
are on Mon-Fri at 19:30 and on Sat and Sun at 20:00. (I think that
means prime time :-)). ALF is showed on that channel since October
1998, but unfortunately, it seems to be aired without any real
order (not chronological).
